Way Basic Toddler Hat

This is the hat in the Way Basic Toddler Mittens picture

Yarn: Lion Wool-Ease Worsted Weight (shown in Rose Heather 140)
Needles: size 7 DPN's
Size: Toddler age 1-3


Pattern:

CO 72 sts, join in the round.

Rows 1-7:  *k2 p2 rib across.

Knit for 5"-6" in stockinette stitch

Decreasing rows:

R1: (k2tog, k7) across
R2: (k2tog, k6) across
r:3: (k2tog, k5) across
continue decreasing around like this until there are 8 sts, break yarn, pull through loops and tie off.

Would be super cute with a big pom pom on top!

The cant remember what the name of the knit flower pattern is, but I found it free on Ravelry.com

Quick Headband and Flower






Yarn: Loops & Threads Charisma  in Black Raspberry
Needles: size 13 straights or 9 mm
Hook: size P or 11.5 mm

The Headband is about 4 inches wide and fits teen-adult (size for toddler at bottom)

Key:
CO -cast on
R1- Row or Round 1
k-knit
p-purl
ch-chain
sc-single crochet
hdc-half double crochet
dc-half double crochet
tc-treble crochet



Headband: (knit, worked flat)

CO 11 sts

Work in seed stitch for desired length to fit around head:
R1: *k1, p1, repeat across, last stitch k1

repeat this row for entire length of headband

BO

Sew two short ends together



Flower: (crochet, worked in the round)

Chain 2

r1: 5 single crochet in 2nd Chain from hook, join in round with a slip stitch into first stitch.

r2: ch1, (sc, hdc, dc, tc, dc, hdc, sc) 5x

Weave in ends, sew onto headband.

**for the flower I cut the yarn so that it would be completely pink for good contrast.

**for toddler size, only cast on 7 for headband and knit less rows.  for smaller flower, use size L or 8mm hook and continue pattern as suggested, omitting treble crochet.

Tea Cozy


Yarn: Lambs Pride Worsted
Needles: size 7 straights
Knit in 2 pieces and sewn together

Pattern:
Make 2
CO 31 sts
Knit 2 rows
Increase 1 stitch at the beginning of the next 4 rows (35 sts total)
Knit 30 rows in Stockinette Stitch (knit right side, purl wrong side)
Decreasing:
R1: *k5, k2tog, k1, repeat K3 (31 sts)
R2: purl
R3: *k5, k2tog, repeat, k3 (27 sts)
R4: purl
R5: *k4, k2tog, repeat, k3(23 sts)
R6: purl
R7: k2 (k2, k2tog, k1) repeat, k3(19 sts)
R8: purl
R9: *k2, k2tog, repeat, k3(15 sts)
R10: purl
R11: *k1, k2tog across(11 sts)
R12: purl
BO
Sew both sides together leaving holes large enough for the spout and handle of your teapot
Bottom should be rolled up. The top should remain open for lid handle.
